Remee’s new hybrid cables have been designed exclusively for use with HD cameras to meet SMPTE 311 standard requirements.  These composite cables can multiplex audio signals and video signals and deliver power to the camera.  A hybrid combination of copper conductor components and fiber optic components serve this purpose.

SMPTE camera cables may require special features, such as flexibility or flame retardancy, depending on their application and environmental conditions.  The new line of Remee SMPTE 311 cables provides a variety of cable configurations and options, covering a broad range of requirements for broadcasting.

  • Direct Burial:

20 AWG – 4C copper; 24 AWG – 2C copper; 2 Single Mode OS2 tight buffered fibers; overall 90% TC braid shield, PVC jacket, water blocking tape; stranded steel strength member

  • Rugged Environment:

20 AWG – 4C copper; 24 AWG – 2C copper; 2 Single Mode OS2 tight buffered fibers; overall 90% TC braid shield, water blocking tape, polyurethane jacket; up-jacketed stranded steel strength member

SMPTE 311 cables are used for transmission in arenas, stadiums and for sporting events and large venues where long cable runs are needed.  Some of the cameras that use SMPTE 311 cables include Alexa Fiber Remote, JVC GY-HM790, Sony cameras with HDCU-2500, Grass Valley LDX Series and Ikegami camera systems.
