Winter is peak home fire season - Fire Alarm Cable failure is not an option!

Wednesday, Mar 1st

Winter is peak season for home fires.  During the months of December, January, February and March there are more home fires than at any other time of the year.  In the US someone dies from a home fire roughly every three hours.  Scary to consider but nonetheless true!

In the realm of Fire Safety, failure is simply not an option.

While the reasons for home fires may have nothing at all to do with the Fire Alarm Cable running through your home, the quality of the cables becomes incredibly important.  A Fire Alarm System relies on high quality cable.  It is the cable that connects a hard wired individual alarm and/or sensors in your home, to a central station and ultimately a first responder that will come to help in the event of a fire.  You don’t want a low quality wire to be the reason that a first responder does not get to your home in time.  Timing in this case is everything; it is literally life and death.

All Remee Fire Alarm Cable meets NYC Local Law 5 Fire Alarm requirements as well as NEC article 760 specifications.  We bring over 40 years experience to manufacturing Fire Alarm Cable so you can be assured that our wire will be manufactured with the highest quality.  Plus all of our Fire Alarm Cable in manufactured right here in our facility in Florida, New York.

Remee would like to do our part to help keep you and your family safe.
Below are a few tips to ensure that you are protected:

  • Test fire alarms at least once a month – simply press the test button
  • Every 10 years - replace all smoke alarms (or if the test above does not work)
  • Install interconnected smoke alarms- so that when one sounds, they all sound.
  • When an alarm sounds - get out and stay out.  Do what you can to alert small children or the elderly whom often sleep through even the loudest fire alarms.
  • Do not try to re-enter the building.
  • Call the fire department from a cell phone or neighbor’s phone – Even if your central fire alarm is connected to the fire department’s central alarm station, you should still follow this step.
